On Jan 1, US hospitals had to publish all their pricing info online. According to several articles, the information is difficult to search and compare. Is there an opportunity for a MarkMail-like webapp to bring all the data into one place?
A further complication is all the various interactions with insurance plans–what you pay is almost never the “list price” – but that could be something to follow up on once the initial data is crawled.
Seems like such a natural fit for MarkLogic. Is anyone already working on this? If not, is anyone interested?
